This role will be instrumental in scaling and leading all aspects of legal operations, commercial contracting, and risk management. The Head of Legal will serve as a key advisor to company leadership, own the customer and vendor contracting process end-to-end, and manage our legal and compliance workflows as we scale. This is a unique opportunity to build the legal function at a fast-paced, mission-driven company with global reach in the digital asset space. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and thrives in an environment where legal, financial, and strategic decisions intersect. Role and Responsibilities
Own and manage all customer and vendor contracting, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing agreements Serve as the primary internal legal resource for commercial, corporate, compliance, and employment matters Manage external counsel assisting with litigation that may arise Design, improve, and implement scalable legal operations processes and systems to support a high-growth SaaS business Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, finance, HR, product, and leadership to align legal strategy with business goals Support international expansion efforts by advising on entity formation, compliance, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions Manage external counsel relationships globally, including oversight of legal budgets and ensuring consistent quality of service Monitor and advise on evolving legal and regulatory developments, particularly in SaaS, data privacy, and tax compliance Support corporate governance, board matters, equity administration, and international subsidiary compliance
Professional Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership (Utah bar or eligible for in-house practice) 7+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in SaaS contracts and corporate legal work Experience managing the full contract lifecycle, including customer MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, Order Forms, and vendor agreements Demonstrated ability to build legal functions or work autonomously in high-growth environments Familiarity with legal tech tools and CLM systems a plus
