Location: ENG King's Lynn, England, United Kingdom

Note to applicants: We are headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Parity has teammates distributed across the EU and beyond, as such, remote working arrangements are common, however, European time zones are preferred for this role. About Parity

Parity Technologies builds core infrastructure to power a better internet—one that respects the freedom and data of individuals—and to empower developers to create better services through decentralised tech. Amongst others, Parity’s technologies include Substrate, a flexible framework for building blockchains, and Polkadot, a protocol for connecting and securing blockchains.

About the role

As Ecosystem Events Lead, you will report to the Director of Operations on the Ecosystem and Business Development Team. The Ecosystem and BD teams support high-value and often very public strategic initiatives, things like large ecosystem projects, external partnerships, developer conferences, and product related improvements. As a result of Parity’s continued growth and scale, we are hiring across all teams and building our greater organisation, which we hope you’ll help us with. Despite rapid growth we strive to remain close-knit by attending frequent company and team-specific offsties.

Primarily, this role will be responsible for executing high profile events in the service of the greater Ecosystem engagement strategy. This means thinking creatively around how to engage different ecosystem participants, from developers to heads of legacy businesses, from global thought leaders to those just stepping foot into Web3. Due to the fast-moving nature of the industry, events at Parity may sometimes have aggressive deadlines; therefore, the person in this role should be comfortable working well with tight deadlines. We are looking for an individual who is interested in setting industry standards for how events run in Web3, who is excited about being creative with integrating technology to event execution, and who is obsessed with creating memorable experiences. This hire will also be responsible for owning a series of elite international events for thought leaders in the Polkadot ecosystem, and may assist in curating team retreats.

The right candidate for this position works well with a high degree of autonomy, thrives in a dynamic work environment, and is motivated by a diverse range of event types. This role will require advanced organisational skills and an instinct for how to prioritise among the many competing events. As this role also requires coordination across internal and external stakeholders, highly developed communication skills are of utmost importance, as is a high degree of responsibility in handling sensitive information.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • 4+ years of global event management experience
  • Evidence of experience working with competing deadlines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders
  • While any professional background is welcome, preference will be given to candidates coming from the Web 2.0 or Web 3.0 sectors
  • Deep technical blockchain expertise is not required, however, candidates should be familiar with blockchain technologies and the general principles of Web3
  • As this role will involve interfacing with external partners, a high degree of professionalism is required
  • This role will require international travel

Our benefits

  • Working at Parity means focusing on the stuff that counts: building the most cutting-edge technology for the future web. Our teams enjoy a high degree of trust, freedom and autonomy to achieve that goal.
  • You will gain a keen understanding of blockchain technology and business development and have a skill set transferable to many jobs.
  • Because we value initiative and learning, we've defined a generous personal budget to attend conferences or skills courses of your choosing. We think you know what's best for you!
  • Parity is a diverse company with people from various countries, and we will support you with German or English language courses where needed.
  • Not all of us who collaborate work in the same place. Bringing the team together is something we value a lot, so we regularly go on team retreats (subject to current pandemic restrictions for the health of our contributors and teams).
