Engineering Manager, Blockchain Support Operations

BitGo is looking for an Engineering Manager who will join our team in Palo Alto, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management, product teams, and other key stakeholders to attend to customer feature requests and issues
  • Collaborate with blockchain engineering teams to standardize third-party developers coin onboarding experience
  • Manage a remote team of contractors to build our test automation infrastructure strategy
  • Transform our coins onboarding process to be streamlined and turnkey, while building towards a self-serve vision that enables our partners in the industry
  • Resolve escalations arising from operations and work with various teams to solve problems
  • Drive a rigorous practice of thorough documentation and knowledge sharing
  • Lead and develop a team of talented and high-impact engineers, providing cultural, technical, and hands-on leadership
  • Grow engineers by actively shaping a culture of open communication, craftsmanship, ownership, and accountability
  • Manage team goals, project timelines, and delivery dates while ensuring proper allocation of resources and budgets within the team
  • Be fully accountable to and drive accountability for KPIs pertaining to service health and uptime, software quality, and test coverage
  • Drive accountability for the quality and delivery of the team’s work
  • Shape best practices for your team in engineering design and usability, leading by example
  • Work closely with company leadership to identify upcoming opportunities and risks
  • Align teams to broader company objectives and client expectations

Required

  • Work experience as a manager or similar senior-level position at an engineering department
  • 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, 3+ years in a managerial role leading engineers
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading development teams
  • Proven experience sourcing and hiring top engineering talent, including managerial talent
  • Excellent knowledge of the various blockchain protocols and strategies around cryptocurrency-based financial services software
  • Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-volume applications
  • Proven understanding of business goals and strategy and how that drives direction within an engineering department
  • Proven ability to balance business requirements from various independent stakeholders with problems that impede work execution and delivery, while driving the highest ROI initiatives
  • Ability to translate a complex arrangement of software components into a cohesive architecture that yields clean, efficient, and highly maintainable code
  • Shipped multiple projects and services to large scale consumers
  • Strong working knowledge of modern software development methodologies, software design patterns, and SDLC
  • A self-starter capable of adapting quickly and being decisive
  • Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A public figure in the blockchain industry is considered a plus
