About the job

Why work at Axion?

Axion is building the first blockchain SDK for web scale decentralized applications.

Big Problems in Web3 we are solving:

1.) TPS limitations that inhibit the progress of innovative new applications.

2.) Bridge insecurity which restricts cross-chain interoperability.

3.) Building the first high throughput on-chain order book

Axion leverages recent advances in consensus technology to facilitate the production of application specific blockchains capable of exceeding 100,000 transactions per second. This throughput is more than 10x existing solutions and is made possible by recent advances in consensus technology. Moreover, Axion acts as a connectivity hub that enables cross-chain communication through aggregate state proof production.

Lastly, we are building a flagship application specific chain which operates the first order book based decentralized exchange that is capable of high throughput. This will be the first orderbook capable of servicing a decentralized exchange that functions at the scale of leading decentralized competitors.

As a Blockchain Architect, you will work directly with the founding team to architect and grow the development efforts for the Axion hub. In this role, you will be tasked leading technical designs, implementing, and will bear significant ownership in getting the Axion to mainnet.

What you'll do:

  • Desgin and implement core blockchain component, primarily using Rust
  • Build, test, debug, and deploy a large-scale decentralized systems across hundreds of nodes
  • Work with file systems, execution engines, programming language design, and consensus protocols to complete complex engineering challenges like building DeFi related blockchain modules, such as integrated oracles
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software engineering practices and principles in a highly visible open-source project

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years (ideally 5+ years) of experience as a hands-on software engineer
  • Expertise in networking, consensus protocols, parallel execution, storage, or smart contract development
