The project:
https://free.technology/codex
We are a diverse team of experienced researchers and engineers in various parts of the world working at the intersection of P2P networks and bleeding-edge Zero Knowledge technology.
We build and test prototypes utilizing new compression methods in conjunction with standard blockchain subsystems to benchmark the performance advantages of our implementations to existing ones. We aim to deliver a more advanced decentralized data storage protocol that improves the primitives of decentralized file storage and delivery.
This role fits our project and product goals by providing core engineering effort to help make the Codex client production-ready by coordinating with our in-house Distributed Systems Testing Team to prepare all networking subsystems for testnet and mainnet.
You will join the marketplace team of Codex, where you will work on smart contracts in Solidity and a peer-to-peer node written in Nim.
You have:
- be an experienced programmer in a strongly typed language such as C/C++/Go/Rust/Java/C#
- have programmed smart contracts in Solidity
- have worked on distributed systems
- know the fundamentals of cryptography and how to use it
- thrive in an open-source project with an informal structure
- deliver and maintain tests with your code
Bonus points if you:
- can read computer science papers and implement them
- have experience with zero knowledge schemes
- can program in Nim
- have experience leading a team
- have worked on peer-to-peer systems
Hiring process:
- Intro call with People Ops team
- Interview with Codex team member, focusing on team and tech fit
- Interview with Codex team member, deep tech interview
- Interview with Project Lead
Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this role is negotiable, dependent on how we assess your skills and experience throughout our interview process). We are happy to pay in any mix of fiat/crypto.
