Web3 Sr. AWS Security Engineer

Salary$170,000 - $ 220,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the example others aspire to be; technically coach, mentor, inspire, and challenge your fellow team members

• Identify, resolve, and mitigate vulnerabilities on AWS cloud systems and platforms, leveraging:

• Secure configuration and system hardening best practices
• Vulnerability scanning and assessments, and understanding how to prioritize
• Operational and runtime practices and procedures
• Log and event analysis and alerting

• Manage firewalls, load balancers, and web application firewalls (WAF)
• Lead efforts in defining the security technical requirements for all parts of the firm’s platform
• Perform risk assessments for new applications integrating with core services
• Assist in the creation of cybersecurity standards and implementing security best practices across all technology platforms, following industry standard frameworks, i.e., NIST CSF and 800-53.
• Identify and evaluate risks in the cloud infrastructure and work with stakeholders to mitigate
• Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to develop short- and long-term cloud security strategies and roadmap
• Participate and possibly lead in investigations, triage, and remediation for security events and incidents
• Develop documentation for procedures, tooling, and events
• Maintain keen awareness of the cloud infrastructure security landscape and emerging threat vectors
• Deploy and administer endpoint security solutions

• Continually provide improvements to existing functionality, its design, and methodologies
• Work closely with other core members on the team
• Work with open-source technologies as needed
• Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT and GitLab

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science highly preferred
• Great team player with ability to work without supervision, and proven ability to prioritize
• At least 5 years of systems security engineering experience within either the AWS ecosystems
• Experience writing Ansible or other automation scripts for deployments and/or configuration management
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, and/or Terraform
• Hands-on experience managing and maintaining WAF’s, Firewalls and Load Balancers

• Expertise in security subdomains, including Encryption, Data Protection, Vulnerability Management, Incident Response, Network Security, Infrastructure Security, CICD Security, Identity and Access Management, Logging and Resiliency.
• Familiarity with industry security frameworks (ISO, SOX, SWIFT, OWASP, NIST CSF)

• Experience writing Ansible or other automation scripts for deployments and/or configuration management
• Experience with open-source software and cloud services
• Strong experience with Linux-based infrastructures, and administration of AWS
• The ability to take ownership and see initiatives through and meet deadlines
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills with ability to evangelize best practices for security across all teams and management and work in rapidly growing environment

Would be nice to have:

• Fluent in Mandarin a plus
• Knowledge of blockchain technologies and fault tolerant protocols
• FinTech industry exposure with Cryptocurrency and/or blockchain knowledge
