Parallel is on a mission to bring Decentralized Finance to 1 Billion People. As a first step, we have built an institutional-grade DeFi parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem, to empower the community to earn interest on their assets, with the utmost safety and security in mind. Our primary goal is to create an innovative lending, borrowing, staking system that uses the power of Polkadot to generate the greatest capital efficiency for everyone involved.

We're looking for teammates with a range of expertise from specialists to methodological generalists, with skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods. For this position, we are looking for experienced researchers with strong skills in a range of qualitative research methods. The right candidates will be excellent communicators, knowledgeable about product development and design, curious about the relationship between technology and work, comfortable in a fast-moving organization, excited to collaborate, and passionate about understanding and helping people.

  • Work closely with product teams to identify research initiatives.
  • Design hypotheses and lead studies that examine both user behavior and attitudes.
  • Generate actionable insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate design / product experiences.
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative methods and a subset of quantitative methods, such as surveys.
  • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.
  • Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, while advocating for the people who could use our products.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (product management, data science, analytics, business, design, engineering, etc.) to identify and prioritize knowledge gaps in our understanding of the user experience and design research that uniquely contributes to solving for those knowledge gaps.

Evaluation Criteria / Must-Haves

  • Qualitative Research: Experience conducting qualitative interviews with users and extract unbiased insights to inform product directions or validate assumptions. Ability to conduct interviews, run contextual inquiries, and examine competitor analysis
  • Product Sense: Understanding of product direction and strategy.
  • Communication: Ability to to communicate research findings to cross-functional teams effectively and influence product decisions.
  • Proactive: Ability to roll up the sleeves and actively recruit users to conduct interviews.
  • Crypto Interests: Passionate about the space.
