Business Compliance Specialist - Asset Governance
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end compliance oversight for assets listed on the Binance platform, ensuring all tokens meet Binance’s internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and update asset governance policies and procedures aligned with global regulatory frameworks and Binance’s risk appetite. Ensure policies are effectively communicated and embedded across relevant teams.
- Work closely with product teams, legal, global compliance, risk, and regional MLROs to ensure compliance controls are integrated into token lifecycle management and product features. Facilitate timely and compliant product launches and updates.
- Monitor global regulatory developments impacting asset governance and crypto asset compliance. Provide training and guidance to business units to ensure awareness and adherence to evolving requirements.
- Monitor anonymity enhanced coins listed on the Binance platform, keep accurate records as to their usage, identify AML risks relating to their usage and provide mitigation advice to compliance leadership.
- Periodically review internal definitions for anonymity enhanced coins and update in line with global regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Ensure assets listed on the platform have sufficient transaction monitoring and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure monitoring coverage is implemented where monitoring is found to be insufficient.
- Support investigations related to suspicious activities involving tokens and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and law enforcement, as necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to promote a culture of compliance and facilitate efficient resolution of compliance issues.
- Assist in enhancing compliance frameworks, tools, and automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness of token governance processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial services compliance, preferably within crypto, fintech, broker-dealer, or asset management environments.
- Strong understanding of financial crime risk management, including AML, sanctions, fraud, and market abuse controls.
- Deep knowledge of tokenomics, crypto asset types, and blockchain technology.
- Experience with token listing and delisting processes, or similar product governance functions, is highly desirable.
- Up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory developments affecting crypto assets and digital tokens.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and develop practical compliance solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working effectively across diverse teams and regions.
