Celo Foundation is hiring a Web3 Developer Relations, Community Manager
Compensation: $72k - $100k estimated

At the Celo Foundation, we support various partners across the Celo Ecosystem including cLabs, the team working on the open source platform Celo, whose mission is to build a regenerative digital economy that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.
Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility.
Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launched on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.
Celo is seeking a skilled and highly technical community manager to play a pivotal role in supporting its core contributors, whose engineering contributions are crucial to the growth and acceleration of the Celo blockchain. The role will be responsible for managing and supporting the contributor community through recurring All Core Devs calls, supporting contributors and their CIPs (Celo Improvement Proposals), and working closely with engineering and product teams to build with success.
The role also involves facilitating online communities and engineering teams, managing PRs on Github, posting to forums, and managing communication channels across forum, telegram, and email. You Will:
- Manage and support the Celo core contributor community
- Organize recurring All Core Devs calls and other communication channels
- Support contributors and their CIP’s
- Manage PRs on Github, post to forums, and manage communication channels across forum, telegram, and email
- Stay up to date with new developments in the industry and serve as a subject matter expert
- Represent Celo at relevant industry events
- Deal with ambiguity, operate in a high-growth environment, set strategic vision, support technical relationships, and solve complicated problems with limited oversight
You Have:
- Experience in a previous or current role as a Core Blockchain Developer Relations Engineer, Advocate, Evangelist, or you may previously held a Software Engineering position and be versed in Go, Rust, or another low-level language
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across a wide community of core contributors at multiple organizations
- Experience managing PRs on Github, posting to forums, and managing communication channels across telegram, email, and on social media
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- An affinity for blockchain technology and enjoy staying up to date with new developments in the industry
- Manage online communities and worked collaboratively with engineering and product teams to deliver results
- Seasoned problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity and limited oversight
- The ability to discuss CIPs at a technical level
- Contributed to at least one EVM compatible protocol in the past
- Experience coordinating All Core Devs calls on a recurring basis or the ability to coordinate them effectively
