SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the director of public relations is to develop and lead the execution of the company’s public relations program and to support the broader efforts of the marketing and communications (MarComms) department. The MarComms team’s primary mission is to clearly communicate and effectively promote the company’s mission, milestones, products, brand, and broader strategic initiatives to its various stakeholders. We are the defenders of the brand and the voice of the company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Work alongside the VP of Corporate Communications to develop and execute an effective strategic communication’s program.
  2. Build trusted relationships with the media, secure positive coverage, and manage the company's reputation.
  3. Evangelize the company's mission, milestones, products, and strategic initiatives to media outlets and influencers.
  4. Oversee the company's PR firms, provide strategic guidance, and ensure alignment with the company's goals and messaging.
  5. Collaborate with PR firms to amplify the company's messaging across various channels.
  6. Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on crisis communications planning and response, protect the company's reputation, and mitigate negative impact.
  7. Monitor media coverage and industry trends, provide insights to internal stakeholders, and adjust PR strategies as needed.
  8. Serve as a spokesperson for the company, represent its interests and values in media engagements.
  9. Develop and implement brand advocacy initiatives to enhance the company's reputation and credibility, including partnerships, endorsements, donations, and thought leadership opportunities.
  10. Manage conference sponsorships by identifying relevant events, negotiating sponsorships, coordinating logistics, and maximizing brand visibility and ROI.
  11. Manage the company's announcement calendar, coordinate with internal teams and external parties to ensure timely and effective communication of key announcements.
  12. Conceptualize, draft, and distribute press releases and PR materials for key company announcements and milestones.
  13. Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, investor relations, design, legal, etc.) to ensure all messaging aligns with the company's values and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 6+ years of experience in public relations (agency or in-house) and/or corporate marketing.
  • Proven experience developing, executing, and managing strategic communication programs, preferably within the energy, technology, or Bitcoin industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media outlets and influencers, as well as secure positive coverage.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on crisis communications planning and response.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor media coverage and industry trends, derive insights, and provide guidance on a constantly evolving PR strategy.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; a unique ability to communicate complex and technical concepts clearly and concisely; attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills with prior experience serving as a spokesperson for an organization, representing its interests and values.
  • Experience managing conference sponsorships, negotiating agreements, and coordinating logistics, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Strong organizational skills. A history of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects.
