Web3 Security Engineer

We are searching for a Security Engineer to join Figment, this is the first hire for this department / team, you will have a good deal of input on helping to shape the team as we continue to grow. The position is remote however we are ideally searching for someone near the Toronto Metro Area.

About The Role

• You will be responsible for checking our entire exposed surface (vms, Kubernetes ingresses websites, etc) for open vulnerabilities that can be exploited.
• Automating security scans of infrastructure.
• You will work with Devs to close vulnerabilities in their applications.
• Use infrastructure as code tools to put in place secure defaults and provide an easily check-able answers to who/what has access to what.
• Put in place intrusion detection and auditing to catch security breaches when they happen.
• Create tooling to help balance the requirements of security and ease of access.
• Red team attacks to try and identify weaknesses in our training and configuration.
• Prepare strategies to protect high risk blockchain keys that have 100% online requirements.
• Communicate the importance of security to the wider organization in a clear and simple way.
• Be involved at the design stage to ensure security is considered from the beginning.
• Ideal for a candidate that wants a large breadth of experience in different security areas.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with the following: Terraform, Ansible, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Linux Security Hardening best practices.
• Experience working in a high growth startup environment is a plus.
• Self-started who is able to work cross functionally with other teams and departments but also able to be autonomous and achieve goals and deadlines.
• Have deep knowledge of security best practices and fundamentals.
