About This Role – Transaction Monitoring and Blockchain Analytics Specialist

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Transaction Monitoring and Blockchain Analytics Specialist who will work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)and AML Officer in New York. The candidate will be instrumental in helping to support the continued build-out and evolution of Genesis’ compliance transaction monitoring and blockchain analytics teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality end-to-end investigations of potentially suspicious activity on relevant blockchains by identifying transaction patterns, trends, and typologies
  • Apply blockchain analytic techniques to complex information sets in order to make logical and supported recommendations
  • Where appropriate, fulfill time-sensitive regulatory filing obligations
  • Support the development and evolution of Genesis’ policies with regards to cryptocurrency and blockchain transactions through the research and analysis of current industry trends
  • Understand the end-to-end crypto compliance AML transaction monitoring process for digital assets-related rules engines and complex forensic investigations, and be able to communicate industry standards and best practices to vendors, internal stakeholders, auditors, and regulators
  • Work closely with the internal group on initiatives as necessary
  • 2+ years of experience reviewing high volumes of unusual virtual currency activity relating to payments and peer-to-peer transmissions from a BSA/AML compliance perspective
  • 2+ years of experience in transaction monitoring/compliance/AML with a financial institution on payment-focus company
  • CAMS certification a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Deep understanding and comprehension of virtual currencies and blockchain analysis
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Chainalysis and Elliptic
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a drive to deliver outstanding results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including conflict management skills and experience interacting with senior management
  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., BSA, OFAC, FinCEN guidance)
