The Controller Position

MobileCoin is seeking an experienced Controller that will be responsible for oversight of all accounting operations, including the production of monthly financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and treasury functions. You will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for growing and managing the accounting organization over time. This role requires someone who can think strategically about systems and processes to minimize manual reconciliation and maximize ease of reporting and metric tracking. We are investing in accounting and systems as a young company to avoid painful manual reconciliations later. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, has an ownership mentality, and values a culture filled with kind and motivated colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Guide financial decisions and protect the Company’s assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Work cross-functionally with various business partners to drive and achieve company wide targets.

Requirements

  • 7+ years hands-on progressive accounting experience with at least 2+ years Big 4, National or Local Firm experience.
  • Experience with complex intercompany structures, licensing and royalty accounting, and software accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail are a must.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP; CPA highly desired but not required.
  • Technologically sophisticated problem solver who values automation.
  • Experience with cryptocurrency is a plus but not required.
