As the Head of PR you will lead all aspects of Outercore PR and media relations, in alignment with our broader company goals. Reporting to the Marketing Director, you’ll work closely with the leadership team to craft a cohesive, external-facing media strategy and drive its delivery. As a seasoned communications leader, you will be responsible for a broad set of media touchpoints to maintain and extend Filecoin, IPFS and other PLN projects prominence in the public sphere.

• Develop and implement media relations plans for ecosystem technical products and projects brand stories
• Strengthen existing relationships and cultivate new relationships with print, online, broadcast reporters, producers, bloggers, and influencers
• Reactively respond to media inquiries, educate reporters, correct misperceptions, and work with the team on issues and crisis communications.
• Work with our agency partners to position thought leaders and content with top tier media outlets
• Collaborate closely with the content, growth marketing, product marketing teams to implement our external communication strategy
• Storymine with leads to create thoughtful pitches and narratives
• Measure and report the impact of campaigns using key performance indicators
• Manage our PR agencies

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of public relations experience preferably with a web3 company or an agency serving technology clients.
• The ideal candidate is immersed in both blockchain and is passionate about developer relationships and education.
• Experience working with leaders at a major company or fast-paced startup
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees
• Knowledge and understanding of the cryptocurrency and blockchain landscape
• Self-starter that is capable of independently pushing projects to completion
