Tradeblock is seeking a Head of Index Research to lead the research group in designing indexes and to provide thought leadership to expand the world’s leading cryptocurrency index offering of industry benchmarks and market indexes for index-linked products. The Head of Index Research will collaborate with internal and external partners to create new index strategies and educational content to support clients and investors. Ideally, candidates will have research experience from indexing, banking, asset management or investment consulting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a group of research analysts and index strategists to develop index methodologies and related educational content.
• Publish white papers on cryptocurrency indexes and applications in multi-asset class portfolios.
• Liaise with internal and external partners in the process of innovating, analyzing and developing new index methodologies.
• Educate on applying cryptocurrency concepts in traditional portfolio frameworks and instruct on similarities and differences of the new technology and well known assets
• Lead index investment strategy content to publish periodic content on index performance

Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in financial industry; specific knowledge of cryptocurrency and/or indexing preferred
• Undergraduate degree in quantitative or financial field such as finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, computer science, physics or engineering
• MBA and/or CFA required, PhD preferred
• Demonstrated experience publishing research targeted to the institutional space
• Must have experience with alternative assets with a strong knowledge of traditional assets in a portfolio framework.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complicated concepts
• Experience managing a team of research analysts within a financial organization

Preferred:

• Deep technical knowledge of blockchain protocols and smart contracts.
• Understanding or Experience with Python and other programming.
