Upstream is building the future of community tools for the future’s equitable, transparent, and decentralized communities. Our most recent product, Upstream Collectives, is a DAO-in-a-box, a full-stack, no-code platform to start and manage a DAO.

We’re looking for a native Android developer to completely own the Android stack for Upstream. You’d work closely with our Dev team and CTO. We're looking for someone who can work independently and is excited about being on the ground level of a rapidly scaling start-up.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining Mobile Native (Android) app for upstream.
• Effectively employ DevOps, Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery using technology such as Groovy, Jenkins, Concourse, Github actions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing publicly available Android apps using Kotlin and/or Java
• Verifiable experience as an Android developer using Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Gradle, and Android Studio in an agile environment
• Worked directly on the release of at least 1 publicly available app to Google Play participating from feature inception to launch using automated tooling like Jenkins, Gradle, and Google Developer APIs
• Demonstrable experience mentoring and coaching other Android developers in a collaborative and team-based organization.
• Your knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies used in creating performant, resilient, and robust Android apps

Bonus Points If You

• Have experience being an individual contributor and like being an individual contributor!
• Are familiar and passionate about cryptocurrencies, blockchain, DeFi, and how they work
• Have deep knowledge of Android design patterns including Clean Architecture
• Have experience building multi-module Android apps
• Have experience with MVVM/MVI

About the Role

• Compensation for this role is within the range of: $130,000-175,000 + health care, learning & development budget, WFH or co-working budget, & technology stipend
• Full-time, completely remote
• Must be authorized to work in the US
