The Sei Foundation is seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic Head of Sciences to lead the development and expansion of Sei’s ecosystem in science and technology applications. This role will be instrumental in bringing health, artificial intelligence, biometrics, and other science-focused use cases to the Sei blockchain. As the Head of Sciences, you will drive partnerships and business development initiatives, working closely with leading technology and research institutions, healthcare providers, insurance providers, and industry innovators to unlock the potential of decentralized scientific applications on Sei.

Responsibilities

•  Develop and expand Sei’s sciences vertical by driving ecosystem growth in areas like personal health data, AI, and biometrics—creating use cases that leverage Sei’s high-performance blockchain infrastructure.
• Establish and nurture partnerships with prominent research institutions, healthcare organizations, insurance providers, and technology companies to expand Sei’s reach and influence in scientific applications.
• Identify and attract institutional partners, including renowned scientific organizations and key web2 technology companies, to enhance Sei’s footprint in scientific and technology-driven use cases.
• Lead business development efforts to secure innovative projects that harness Sei’s blockchain for data sovereignty, privacy-focused data management, and secure decentralized applications in scientific research.
• Work cross-functionally with Sei’s technical teams to identify and support unique blockchain requirements in scientific and health applications, ensuring Sei’s infrastructure aligns with ecosystem needs.
• Collaborate with other vertical heads and the broader business development team to align strategies and leverage synergies across Sei’s diverse application landscape.

Qualifications

• Prior VC experience, particularly in healthcare or science-related investments, OR proven experience in business development, partnerships, or strategy roles within health tech, artificial intelligence, or a related scientific domain; experience with web3 or blockchain technology is a strong plus.
• A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the fields of health data, biometrics, AI, and scientific research, especially around data privacy, ownership, and decentralization.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a track record of securing high-value partnerships with research institutions, technology companies, and key players in the scientific community.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive ecosystem growth and adoption in emerging scientific and tech-focused use cases.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to working across teams and a passion for scientific innovation.
