The Role

The Monad Foundation is looking for a Head of Security. You will lead efforts to protect Foundation assets and to improve the security posture of the Monad ecosystem. The ideal candidate has significant experience in web3 and web2 security.

What You Will Do

• You will build a world-class security culture and strategy to secure Monad Foundation systems, assets, and employees.

• You will elevate security awareness across the Monad ecosystem, through ecosystem-wide tooling and initiatives, as well as by suggesting features or improvements

• You will enable the Monad Foundation to respond nimbly to threats by improving threat detection capabilities and incident response playbooks

• You will oversee the work of external audit teams and external vendors

• You will conduct internal security assessments, audits, and vulnerability testing to identify potential security risks and mitigate them

• You will continuously monitor and research breaking vulnerabilities in both web3 and web2

• You will advocate internally and externally for security best practices as well as develop and implement organizational security policies.
  

Who You Are

• You are an expert in the cyber threat landscape who deeply understands nation-state, criminal, hacktivist, and insider threats

• You have deep knowledge of malware evolution, threat indicators, and adversary TTPs

• You have strong knowledge of social engineering, network, application, cloud, and other web2 security attack vectors

• You are obsessed with web3 security and deeply motivated to improve the space

• You have strong opinions about best practices for securing decentralized systems with billions of dollars at stake

• You have excellent knowledge about the EVM and the how web3 apps are built

• You have excellent knowledge of how prior crypto hacks have occurred and have built up a mental model of the most common vulnerabilities

• You have a bias for action but you are also a very methodical, rigorous person

• You welcome ownership and accountability
