About Sales

The ConsenSys Sales team targets multiple customer segments (Developers, Crypto Institutions, Enterprises) across multiple channels (key account development, campaigns, partnerships). Its role is to enable customers to generate value for their business, by bringing to bear the entire suite of ConsenSys market-leading products and services.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Global Head of Sales, with a proven track-record scaling sales from $100m to $1bn+ of revenue and taking an emerging technology to mainstream.  You will be scaling the organization and developing our sales teams located across seven countries to support this growth.  Key customer segments include developers and business users, in both the Web 3.0 / cryptocurrency ecosystem as well as financial services and corporates who are adopting Web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies.  We provide both point product solutions and complex systems.  You will have a proven track record not only leading both types of sales motions and organizations, but also driving synergies across the two, through direct and indirect channels.

Although we have achieved spectacular financial performance and have an extremely strong customer base, our space is still emerging and we have many new products to bring to market.  Our most mature products are scaling incredibly rapidly and the growth has attracted increased competition.  We also have many products where we are still working to establish product-market fit, and many new ones in the pipeline.

To be successful you will need to both scale sales teams against mature products that have found product-market fit AND work closely with product teams in earlier phases of product and customer discovery.

To thrive in this role, you will be confident when entering a board room setting and skilled at leading and supporting complex conversations with ease.  We want people who are comfortable being held accountable to client-based outcomes, and ultimately, revenue performance.  Importantly, you are an effective leader of people, capable of motivating and organizing large teams, resolving conflict, scaling processes and driving high performance.

You will have a track record of building sales organizations, scaling from dozens to hundreds of sales people, globally.  This includes: sales methodologies, hiring and onboarding, organization and compensation system design, policy design and enforcement, pipeline management and forecasting, career development, and large deal management. 

We expect you to have a well established network of senior executive relationships and to have a proven track record of selling in multiple industries.  Some sectors are of particular interest to us: financial services, market and trading infrastructure, media and entertainment, games, and the crypto-ecosystem.  We realize that there are few candidates with the seniority and experience we are seeking who also have experience selling in the crypto-ecosystem.  Prior experience selling in crypto is not a requirement for us, but you must demonstrate a keen interest in our space; MetaMask, NFTs and Coinbase would be familiar to you, and ideally something you’ve used - but don’t worry if this is not the case.  The unicorn candidate would, however, have a track-record in the crypto-currency and Web 3.0 ecosystem, as selling to market leaders and growing companies in this sector is a key aspect of this role.

You will work closely with our C-suite executives and across the organization, to help drive our growth and implement our strategy.  This will include working closely with our product, strategy and marketing teams, as well as other stakeholders such as finance and corporate development.

  • Prior successful experience building and leading a global sales team through high growth, likely in cloud or FinTech
  • Familiar with emerging business models 
    • Maintaining and reporting the ongoing pipeline of strategic opportunities globally to ensure achievement of sales targets
    • Working closely with our Senior Sales reps to deliver lighthouse projects and significant revenue in selected territories/verticals
  • Highly collaborative individual
  • Recent success in running a high growth business of 100 M - 1 B in revenue
  • Comfortable building a sales organization
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of the recent developments in blockchain in both the enterprise and non enterprise verticals
  • Relationship management skills
  • Ability to oversee numerous complex deals
