Overview
brainbot technologies AG (BBT) is seeking an experienced, creative and business-minded fullstack developer to grow our new Venture Builder (80%) and help maintain the Raiden Network code base (20%).
About Us
BBT is a pioneering web3 venture builder. We have been building on Ethereum since March 2014. We have 35 employees and offices in Mainz & Berlin. Our projects include Beamer Bridge (rollup-rollup bridging), Shutter Network (malicious MEV protection), Trustlines Network (P2P mutual credit) and Raiden Network (P2P high volume payments).
The BBT Venture Builder is the center of our company and the origin of all our projects. We look for exciting opportunities, brainstorm web3 solutions, test assumptions, build prototypes, raise VC funding and send the new project off on a life of its own.
The Raiden Network is infrastructure for high volume payment solutions. Raiden is now fully functional and feature-complete on both Ethereum Mainnet and Arbitrum. Now we are seeking additional use cases for implementation and transitioning to community governance.
Responsibilities
Venture Builder (80%)
- Identify problems (real world and web3) and brainstorm solutions to these problems
- Validate and/or invalidate key assumptions via research and testing, provide assessment of technological feasibility
- Rapid prototyping and MVP creation, get the technology into the hands of the user/customer and get feedback ASAP
- Interview and assess potential new hires (especially developers) for the new ventures
Raiden Network (20%)
- Ensure all Raiden infrastructure on testnets and mainnet (Ethereum, Arbitrum) is running and stable at all times
- Maintain the Typescript and Python Clients
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance, update dependencies, make occasional releases, adapt to changes in the ecosystem, fix critical bugs, refactor code
- Operate testing infrastructure, such as running Raiden Services
- Keep the documentation up to date with any changes
Ideal Candidate
Must Haves
- Ethereum and EVM Based Blockchain knowledge
- Ability to do full stack development with Typescript or other programming languages
- Experience with Android/iOS apps - developing and publishing, setting up monitoring service for error logs, etc.
- Experience with Python, especially:
- gevent
- web3.py
- mypy
- Experience with TypeScript, especially:
- Browser, Vue, Vuetify
- NodeJS, expressJS, pouchDB
- ethersJS, RxJS, Redux
- Functional programming patterns
Nice to Haves
- 2+ years experience in a startup, VC, accelerator, or similar fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- General understanding of the business fundamentals and dynamics
- System administration
- Devops skills
- Comfortable engaging with external stakeholders, participating in hackathons, pitching to VCs, presenting at conferences (if you’re an introvert, you should still apply)
- Have personal experience in web3, including (one or more of the following): crypto, DeFi, ReFi, NFTs, DAOs, identity
- Willingness to relocate to (or visit often to) Mainz or Berlin, Germany
