Across web3, malicious actors regularly target users with scams in order to achieve personal financial gain. The Blockchain Integrity Lead at Mysten Labs is responsible for protecting both the Sui community from scams and the Sui Foundation from harm, by detecting and responding to malicious actors who intend to subvert the Sui blockchain ecosystem.

The successful candidate is a builder who thrives when designing and implementing a program from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a cybersecurity background who can deconstruct complex financial scams, identify and articulate the impact, and work with stakeholders to implement change and prevent future occurrence. An understanding of actor techniques and objectives is necessary in order to understand how bad actors can affect the safety of the community. The team will produce detailed reports to warn the Sui ecosystem of emerging scams.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and operationalize scalable services which support the identification, validation, remediation, and communication regarding scams impacting the Sui ecosystem

• Identify and articulate the threat, its potential business impact, and recommended response actions for scams impacting the Sui ecosystem. 

• Facilitate response activities and internal executive communications

• Monitor external data sources and gather intelligence from deep and dark web, covert communication channels, social media platforms, and other open source intelligence sources

• Produce easy to understand technical reports which detail fraud schemes impacting the Sui ecosystem to support community safety 

• Support the health of the Sui Foundation by identifying occurrences of brand impersonation, and implement necessary remediation actions (e.g. DMCA notice, cease and desist letter, etc) 

• Build relationships with partners, including exchanges, wormholes, and markets to identify and resolve significant fraud impacting the Sui ecosystem

• Represent the company as part of external information sharing opportunities

Our Ideal Candidate Would Have:

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or computer science preferred

• Experience in the web3 or financial services industry

• Experience with Incident Command organizational structure and elements

• Experience investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents

• Experience with security log management and enabling investigative correlation

• Experience producing concise and actionable executive ready reporting regarding complex technical investigations
