The Data Engineering team at Flipster enables us to leverage data to bring joy to our members in many different ways. We provide centralized data platforms and tools for various business functions at Flipster, so they can utilize our data to make critical data-driven decisions. We do all the heavy lifting to make it easy for our business partners to work with data efficiently, securely, and responsibly.

The mission of the Data Engineering team is to boost the productivity of the data science and engineering community at Flipster. This means enabling users to spend more time solving business problems and less time engineering lower-level systems.

Responsibilities

• You strive to write elegant code, and you are comfortable with picking up new technologies independently.
• You have an eye for detail, good data intuition, and a passion for data quality.
• You are always looking for opportunities to simplify, automate tasks, and build reusable components across multiple use cases and teams.
• You appreciate the importance of great documentation and data debugging skills.
• You are comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with ambiguous requirements.
• You have excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners and drive projects.

What we want you to have

• BS in Computer Science or related fields
• Less than 3 years of professional experience or recent graduates
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and adapt
• Excellent software development skills and fluency in at least one modern programming language
• Business level proficiency in both Korean and English

Nice to have

• Hands-on industry experience in software development
• Self-driven, proactive personality and critical thinking
• Experience in a cryptocurrency exchange or fin-tech company
• Experience in working with web-scale datasets.
• Experience in distributed computing/MapReduce strongly preferred
• Experience in Cloud/Big Data Platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Beam, Spark, etc.)
• Great communication skills
