The Solana Foundation is working to realize a world where individuals own their data, use permissionless networks, and transfer information freely around the world.

The Solana Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Communications Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the foundation's communication and public relations activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and implement an integrated communications strategy for the foundation that aligns with the organization's overall objectives and goals.

- Manage and oversee media inbound and outbound.

- Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets to ensure maximum coverage of the foundation's activities.

- Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling content for external communication, including blog posts, videos, podcasts, and other forms of multimedia.

- Monitor and report on media coverage of the foundation and relevant industry trends, and use insights to inform communication strategy.

- Manage crisis communication situations, ensuring timely and effective responses to all stakeholders.

- Act as one of the main points of contact for all external communication inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.

- Develop and maintain a network of key stakeholders and partners to support the foundation's mission and objectives.

- Manage the foundation’s external agency of record

- Manage the ecosystem’s communications launches

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably in the blockchain/web3 industry.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

- Strong media relations skills, with experience in developing relationships with journalists and media outlets.

- Experience managing external agencies.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Understanding of the blockchain industry and its ecosystem is a plus.
