We are looking for an Accountant to join our team and support our organization's day-to-day finance and accounting functions. As a key member of the team, you will help with the reconciliation of all financial activity across the firm, including trading and crypto transactions, AP/AR, organizational spending, and flow of funds. You will have a critical role in ensuring that our data is correct, and our numbers tie out. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, curious, takes initiative, is energized by new challenges and is interested in the digital assets space.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all accounting, financial statements, and reporting for various investment funds, such as venture capital funds and hedge-fund >
- Review internal financial statements and fund statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and fund administrators to ensure accurate transaction reconciliation
- Manage all accounts payable/receivable, and work with internal counterparts to process internal true-ups, and with Investor Relations on timely fee invoicing
- Provide data insights necessary for company-wide financial decision making
- Manage relationships and communication with third parties including banks, accountants, administrators, and auditors
- Make recommendations for tax optimization, and assist with the tax filing process for corporate entities and investment funds
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a Finance or Accounting role at an investment bank, fund, accountancy firm or similar
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, understanding the importance of meticulously verifying reconciliations and managing data from various sources
- Ability to execute under pressure and within tight timelines while juggling multiple projects
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of industry trends and best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with collaborative nature and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience using statistical and database software
- Demonstrated interest, activity, and engagement with the crypto ecosystem
- CPA preferred, but not required
$75,000 - $90,000 a year
Compensation: The expected base salary for this New York based position ranges from $75k- $90k. The actual base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, relevant certifications, skills, and geographic location.
