About the Role
 
The Head of Development is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of all software development projects. This role requires a deep understanding of software development methodologies as well as the ability to lead and motivate a team of developers to achieve common goals. The Head of Development will work closely with other department heads to ensure that all projects are aligned with the company’s overall strategy and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in software development, with at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role. They will have a proven track record in delivering successful projects on time and within budget. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Duties & Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and grow a team of developers responsible for building high-quality software
Work with other department heads to ensure that development efforts are aligned with company strategy
Understand the business domain and be able to translate requirements into technical specifications
Oversee the entire software development life cycle, from concept to release
Ensure that development projects are completed on time and within budget
Handle escalations and resolve conflicts
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Mentor and coach individual developers on their career growth path
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback
Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices
Represent the development team in executive-level meetings

Qualifications and Experience
10+ years in software development, with 5+ years in a leadership role
Proven experience building and managing a team of developers
Expertise in multiple programming languages - fullstack
In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
Experience with web3 development and deployment

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Experience leading a team of remote developers
Working knowledge of DevOps tools and practices
Familiarity with AAA Gaming and Blockchain
