Head of Security (m/f/d). Remote
About the role:
Join Glassnode as the Head of Information Security and drive business-critical initiatives, systems and processes that protect, secure and enable our core services and clients.
We are looking for a highly motivated Head of Information Security who is still keen on working hands-on to develop and implement our company's comprehensive information security strategy. You will also ensure that the IT security systems adhere to regulatory requirements and analyse threats to the computer system in real time.
You bring comprehensive knowledge of possible IT security risks and how to mitigate them, prepare the company for potential cyber-attacks and have a keen interest in sustainable business growth.
Join us remotely, you can be located anywhere around the CET time zone, as our work is 100% online. The position is full-time.
What you will be doing:
- Work with all business units to determine possible risks and risk management processes
- Understand and interact with related disciplines through committees to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems and services
- Assist with the overall business growth and technology planning, providing current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems
- Source and negotiate new hardware and software technology, ensuring it complies with IT security regulations
- Planning, designing, and implementing the company's IT and network strategy with continuous improvement in mind
- Determining the cause of internal and external data breaches and instituting appropriate corrective and preventative action
- Presenting regular reports on IT network security to the management & board of directors
- Develop security processes and guidebooks, conducting employee security awareness training
- Managing the Security Incident Response Team (to be built)
- Together with the Legal team, ensure the security of the company's data
What you bring to the table:
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. An MBA or MSc is preferable
- Minimum eight to twelve years of experience in risk management, information security, or programming
- Professional security management certification, eg Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Blockchain Security Professional (CBSP)
- An exceptional understanding of scripting and source code programming languages, such as Python, Golang, and Java
- Knowledge of information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, SOC2 and NIST
- Excellent project management skills and experience in financial forecasting and budget management
- Excellent understanding of current legislation and regulations
- Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams
- Experience with contract and vendor negotiations and management, including managed services.
- Specific experience in Agile (scaled) software development or other best-in-class development practices
- Experience with Cloud computing/Elastic computing across virtual environments
