About Helius
Helius is building the core infrastructure for Solana - empowering developers to create the next generation of crypto-powered applications. Our mission is to accelerate the development of internet capital markets by making it easier, faster, and more intuitive to build on-chain.
Thousands of teams - from early-stage startups to industry leaders like Coinbase, Phantom, and Jupiter - rely on Helius APIs, webhooks, and indexing tools to power their products. Backed by Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, and Foundation Capital, we’re a small, senior team obsessed with performance, simplicity, and scalability in decentralized systems.
Read our Helius Manifesto to see how we work and what we value.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to own observability end-to-end and rebuild our visibility stack from the ground up. You’ll design and run the systems behind metrics, logs, tracing, and performance debugging for every product team at Helius. This work has huge leverage. Better visibility means faster iteration, tighter feedback loops, and higher reliability across the entire company.
You’ll architect pipelines that handle massive throughput, granular trace data, and millisecond-level introspection. If you enjoy building high-performance systems that help engineers understand and operate complex workloads, this role hits that sweet spot.
What You'll Do
Architect a new observability stack across metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting
Build high-throughput observability pipelines optimized for fast, low-latency querying
Lead the migration from Datadog to cost-efficient, performance-focused internal tools
Partner with infra, product, and performance teams to support deep debugging workflows
Own reliability, scaling, and cost efficiency across the entire observability system
Keep systems simple, fast, and easy for engineers to reason about
What You'll Bring
8+ years of strong programming experience with deep understanding of observability systems
Experience with tools like ClickHouse, Loki, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, or Grafana
Ability to design systems that handle massive data volumes and sustained read/write throughput
Strong systems thinking and intuition for performance, storage tradeoffs, and reliability
Nice to Have
Experience running bare metal at scale
Familiarity with Solana or blockchain performance needs
