The Role
As BD Manager for our API product line, youāll own the end-to-end sales cycle for CoinMarketCapās data API offerings. Youāll work with exchanges, DeFi protocols, fintech apps, data aggregators, and institutional clients to help them leverage CMCās market-leading crypto data through our API solutions.
What Youāll Do
⢠  Own the full sales cycle for CMCās API products ā from prospecting and demo to close and expansion
⢠  Identify and engage new API customers across exchanges, DeFi protocols, fintech platforms, data aggregators, and institutional/TradFi firms
⢠  Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified API opportunities, tracking progress and forecasting revenue
⢠  Understand client data needs and propose the right API tier, endpoints, and integration approach
⢠  Serve as the primary point of contact between API clients and internal teams (product, engineering, support) for onboarding and issue resolution
⢠  Expand revenue from existing API clients by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
⢠  Stay current on competitor API offerings, pricing, and market trends to sharpen CMCās positioning
⢠  Collaborate with Product to relay client feedback and influence the API roadmap
What You Bring
⢠  3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally selling API/data/SaaS products
⢠  Strong network within the crypto industry ā exchanges, DeFi, fintech, or institutional crypto
⢠  Solid understanding of APIs, data products, and how technical buyers evaluate them
⢠  Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
⢠  Fluency in English (native level); additional languages are a bonus
⢠  Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels
⢠  Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
⢠  BS/BA in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field
Nice to Have
⢠  Experience selling crypto market data or financial data APIs specifically
⢠  Familiarity with REST/WebSocket APIs and developer documentation
⢠  Existing relationships with exchanges, trading desks, or institutional crypto firms
⢠  Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
