Who you are

Serotonin is seeking a PR & Events Associate with experience in both earned media and events. As part of the core events team at Serotonin, the PR & Events associate will have the opportunity to drive client event strategies across the robust Web3 ecosystem and adjacent industries. The PR & Events Associate will be client facing and leverage their foundational PR skill set to pitch, coordinate, and optimize event opportunities as part of a holistic marketing strategy. Responsibilities include pitching and securing speaking opportunities at virtual and in-person events, serving as a speaker coordinator at large-scale conferences, leading award nomination processes, coordinating and managing event sponsorships, and executing satellite events, and supporting day-to-day events team operations. The PR & Events Associate will join Serotonin’s growing Public Relations team, working directly with the VP of Events to serve as a connector between Public Relations Managers/Directors, Marketing Directors, and our client portfolio.

The ideal candidate has an appetite to work on events in crypto, NFTs and wider Web3 space, with an emphasis on highlighting thought leaders and creating meaningful touchpoints with developers, businesses, and mainstream audiences. Candidates should have their finger on the pulse of what’s happening in Web3 and related technology sectors and embed themselves in the community in order to source new opportunities for Serotonin clients and founders. Candidates must have a strong interest in Web3 and an eagerness to conceptualize and execute creative, data-driven event activations. This role provides an opportunity to collaborate with emerging and established Web3 companies, founders, and Serotonin’s team of all star marketers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain industry and client event databases, regularly research and add new events as they are announced and communicate them to appropriate client teams.
• Create and maintain an events calendar for the Serotonin client book, working closely with the VP of Events and PR team to ensure the needs of each client are being tracked and met regularly.
• Actively coordinate discovery calls with event organizers to understand earned and sponsored opportunities, and create summary briefs from calls for internal and client review.
• Actively pitch clients for earned event speaking opportunities; prepare clients with key messaging briefs and insights when opportunities are secured.
• Serve as speaker coordinator for large scale events, leading project management and information sharing for all participants.
• Assist with negotiation and management of sponsorships for clients with the VP of Events.
• Work closely with the client services team and VP of Events to create scalable event marketing practices across client teams.
• Act as a liaison to the VP of Events with event organizers and attendees, clients, venues, suppliers, producers, and vendors to communicate relevant project information and deadlines, as well as respond to any event related questions.
• Be the connector between the PR and events team, ensuring information is shared cross functionally.
• Be available for travel and on-site support for large event activations as needed.

Requirements

• 1-3 years experience working in agencies, events, PR, social media, and/or marketing for tech companies or related industries.
• Strategic thinker and creative problem-solver, able to glean insights, develop a vision and bring it to life with actionable plans.
• An ability to prioritize resources, manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously, and to prioritize tasks when faced with multiple deadlines and operate under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously, while working cross-functionally with other marketing team members including those responsible for content, PR, and marketing strategies.
• Ability to proactively communicate results and blockers to clients, client lead, and/or team members as appropriate.
• Remain well-versed in the event strategies of other technology and product teams, and are up to date on technology trends and announcements across the Web3 ecosystem.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, especially keeping event tracking and event databases up to date.
• Experience with blockchain/Web3 or fintech, or a strong desire to learn.
• Proactive communicator with professionalism to be client facing.
• Eagerness to problem solve and navigate real time challenges with a cool head and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• May require occasional travel for on-site event support.
• May require lifting 25-50lbs.
