We are seeking a highly skilled Smart Contract Engineer to join our innovative team at AG. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and maintaining secure and efficient smart contracts that will drive our governance solutions, enhance cross-chain interoperability, and prioritize privacy-first technologies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about decentralized governance and on-chain development, with a keen interest in exploring cutting-edge technologies such as ZK-Proofs and Layer 2 solutions.

Responsibilities

As a Smart Contract Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing Maintainable and Secure Smart Contract Code: Develop high-quality smart contracts that are efficient, secure, and easy to maintain.
  • Designing and Architecting Modular Solutions: Create modular and upgradeable smart contract solutions to address complex governance challenges across both EVM and non-EVM chains.
  • Leading Testing and Auditing Processes: Conduct rigorous testing, auditing, and penetration tests to ensure the security and reliability of smart contracts.
  • Collaborating with Clients: Work closely with clients to design governance features tailored to their specific ecosystems, ensuring alignment with their needs and objectives.
  • Staying Updated with Emerging Technologies: Keep abreast of advancements in technologies such as MACI private voting, ZK-Proofs, WorldID integration, and novel governance structures.
  • Working on Innovative Projects: Engage in projects related to private voting, ZK-Proofs, cross-chain governance, identity verification, advanced staking models, and modular governance.
  • Contributing to the Smart Contract Stack: Play a key role in the development of the smart contract stack, with a focus on utilizing the Foundry toolchain effectively.

Must-Have Skills

  • Solidity: Proficient in Solidity, the primary programming language for writing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Candidates should have a strong understanding of its syntax, libraries, and best practices for secure coding.
  • Vyper: Experience with Vyper, a Python-based smart contract language that emphasizes security and simplicity. Familiarity with its unique features and how it differs from Solidity is essential.
  • Smart Contract Auditing: Proven experience in auditing smart contracts, including familiarity with security best practices, common vulnerabilities (such as reentrancy, overflow/underflow), and tools used for auditing (e.g., MythX, Slither).

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • ZK-Proofs: Understanding of Zero-Knowledge Proofs, a cryptographic method that allows one party to prove to another that a statement is true without revealing any information beyond the validity of the statement itself. Experience in implementing ZK-Proofs in smart contracts is a plus.
  • Layer 2 Solutions: Knowledge of Layer 2 scaling solutions (such as Optimistic Rollups and zk-Rollups) that enhance transaction throughput and reduce costs on the Ethereum network. Familiarity with their integration into smart contracts is beneficial.
  • Foundry Toolchain: Familiarity with the Foundry toolchain, which includes tools for building, testing, and deploying smart contracts. Experience with its build, testing, scripting, and debugging capabilities will be advantageous.

Additional Skills

  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to address future challenges in decentralized governance and smart contract development.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to coding and testing, ensuring high-quality code through thorough validation processes.
  • Fluency in Crypto Protocols: A solid understanding of major crypto protocols, design patterns, and governance standards to inform smart contract design.
  • Passion for On-Chain Development: A genuine interest in exploring new technologies and contributing to the evolution of decentralized governance.
  • Open-Source Community Participation: Active involvement in open-source projects and communities, demonstrating a commitment to collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Deep Passion for Decentralization: A strong belief in the principles of decentralization and on-chain governance, driving motivation and engagement in the role.

Join us at AG as a Smart Contract Engineer and be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to shaping the future of decentralized governance and innovative blockchain solutions.
