Responsibilities

• Handle regulatory approvals, authorisation and licenses including related analysis and applications
• Assist in negotiation of contracts for different business lines in the ecosystem, and support in a variety of transactional and corporate governance initiatives
• Partner with cross-functional and regional teams to draft and review legal documents and provide holistic risk assessment and suggestions to enhance business value while mitigating downside risk across multiple areas of the company
• Manage legal efforts in response to matters encountered by the company, and take charge of external communication on legal matters
• Provide proactive, in-depth, business focused commercial legal advice and counsel
• Identify legal framework developments, align and promote consistency of approach in legal matters between internal stakeholders
• Take prudent risks within the context of the overall business, and advise and implement solutions to address issues
• Manage, grow, and lead a high-performing team
• Communicate with regulators and effectively develop those relationships
• Anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws and regulatory developments concerning the crypto-currency industry

Requirements

• Qualified to practice law in Singapore
• 8-10 years PQE with experience in the financial institutions space or with a regulator
• Experience gained from a reputable law firm together with relevant in-house experience
• In-depth knowledge of financial products, custodial services and payments (FIAT channels, PSPs and wallets etc.)
• Experience with regulatory applications
• Active interest in the cryptocurrency industry and its development
• Possess a very strong sense of team spirit and cross-functional collaboration
• Demonstrate an ability to navigate a complex area of law with practical and actionable advice
• Willing to get hands-on with challenges and help to have a leading-hand in shaping company decisions
