Icarus is a pre-launch, venture-backed web3 platform that is pioneering a new ‘x-to-earn’ model. Our team is led by founders who have backgrounds from Ycombinator, Google, Sequoia, and more, and we raised a pre-seed round of investment from Global Founders Capital, Shima Capital, Lemniscap, and more in January 2022.

Now, after a successful MVP launch, we’re gearing up for scale and expanding our team. We’re looking for a VP of engineering to help build out our product, launch our token, and get to the next level of growth. More details below.

Job Description

We've built a beta that we are actively testing, and now we need to move forward from beta to v1 of the product. We're looking for an expert web3 & engineering wiz to help come alongside our team and push our platform forward to reach the next level of growth.

As VP of engineering, you’ll lead our engineering roadmap + hiring process, coordinate the token + nft marketplace planning, and work on the ground floor as a core founding team member. The ideal candidate has worked on various web3 and crypto projects before, has helped participate in a token launch, and has potentially worked as a dev lead or CTO in the past.

Responsibilities:

• Play a hands-on role while building a world class team; write high quality and well tested Solidity code, following the latest design and development patterns
• Build and deliver a balanced roadmap that includes an appropriate management of technical debt
• Ensure that project and engineering duties are fulfilled, being responsible for solving any engineering issue that comes up in a project
• Lead the development team and guarantee quality products are shipped consistently according to the roadmap created
• Provide support to the development team: answer technical questions, propose different approaches to solve technical problems, train new employees
• Work together with the founding team to assign and organize the workload between team members
• Lead and participate in audit sessions (and create remediation documents) and follow Agile-like processes
• Document the requirements and the architecture and design proposed to provide the software solution
• Constantly improve yourself by keeping up to date with the latest technologies trends
• Promote and build collaboration, accountability and responsibility spirit within the team

Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of experience as a lead developer or software architect
• Previous startup experience and strong track record
• 3+ years of blockchain industry experience
• A deep understanding of the blockchain industry, tokenomics and decentralized product development
• Previously helped launch a token
• Solid grasp of backend languages (Node.js/PHP/Python/Ruby/Typescript)
• Solid grasp of a modern UI library (React.js/Vue.js)
• Vast experience in unit, integration and regression testing
• Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills
