About the Role

Figure is redefining the overall lending process to streamline duplicative tasks, simplifying over-complex interpretation of rules creating efficiencies from origination through to sales, warehousing, as well as servicing.

We are expanding our lending offerings and this will require building from ground level as well as scaling quickly to meet our rapid growth. The Head of Operations will help develop and execute on Figure’s strategic plans while driving operational efficiencies and ensuring regulatory compliance and an industry leading customer experience.

What You’ll Do

Operations

• Direct and implement operational strategies and objectives to ensure an efficient and effective operation with a high-quality customer experience
• Drive volume and profitability through the management of KPI's and SLA's as well as cost per loan and overall profitability of the lending divisions.
• Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with investors and the GSE's
• Collaborate with credit risk to drive and execute on the company's lending strategy
• Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to drive quality improvement and continuous efficiency in Customer Operations
• Embrace and champion our mission of introducing blockchain technology into the traditional financial services industry
• Build and scale a B2B Client Service operation from the ground up
• Participate in the development of new products as Figure continues to build from ground level
• Ensure proper end to end fulfillment standards are implemented in order to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance for investor standards for agency, non-agency, HELOC, Student Loan Refinance and other consumer loan products
• Stay abreast of trends in the mortgage banking and financial industries in order to effectively anticipate the markets and opportunities
• Develop an understanding of business concerns and lead process improvements that provide solutions

Leadership

• Lead by example demonstrating and encouraging a positive and inclusive office culture driven by performance, accountability, and a can-do attitude
• Lead efforts on Ops capacity planning and establish performance metrics and KPI’s based on company-wide KPIs and goals

• Recruit, mentor, and retain a high performing team to ensure the achievement of all operational and revenue standards

• Advise, mentor, and provide feedback to others to encourage and inspire the development of work-related competencies and long-term career growth

Sales Management

• Build and manage a non-traditional Mortgage Sales operations that is highly effective and exceeding goals for rapid growth with industry leading cost per loan metrics
• Coach and lead a sales team that is continuously improving
• Identify resources required for training and continuous learning

What We Look For

• BS/BA with 10+ years of experience leading an operations function in consumer lending, banking, financial services, or related
• 5+ years of mortgage operations experience required
• Strong leadership skills building and developing individuals and teams from the ground up
• Working knowledge of retail lending, including identification of exposure and risk factors
• Self-starter with a proven ability to translate vision and strategy into superior quality and service
• Working knowledge of data analytics and performance/operations metrics
• Highly organized and disciplined with a track record of delivering results
• Flexible nature, able to pivot quickly and collaborate effectively cross-functionally
• Excellent communication skills to build trust and ongoing business relationships
• Previous experience and knowledge to implement processes that meet compliance regulations in the consumer lending space
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment
