Ava Labs is looking for someone who wants to help craft and share our history with Avalanche. This person is an excellent writer, passionate learner, and skilled communicator with demonstrated results for projects in cryptocurrencies, blockchains, and decentralized finance. This role needs a results-driven individual who can own projects end-to-end, and work closely with Ava Labs Chief Marketing Officer to execute high quality content and media relations strategies.

The Communications Manager is an essential member of the Ava Labs team who will help position Avalanche as the go-to blockchain platform for all financial products, services, and other decentralized applications.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns that earn high-quality media coverage
• Work directly with Head of PR and Executive Team and product owners to tell the stories behind Ava Labs applications and the growth of the Avalanche community
• Build and foster relationships between media and Ava Labs / Avalanche
• Leverage insights and proactive response to identify press opportunities and earn Avalanche a place in key stories
• Contribute to copywriting of blogs, press releases, opinion pieces, etc.
  Partner with the wider comms team to develop content for blogs, press releases, opinion pieces, thought leadership pieces, and more
• Work closely with design, legal, and product teams on a global scale to align messaging and content deliverables with overall Ava Labs goals
• Work closely with partners, product managers, founders developers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation and to ultimately tell the stories behind Ava Labs applications and the growth of Avalanche
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support documentation needs related to product launches, hackathons, marketing campaigns, and ecosystem contributions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of writing
• 5+ years experience in Communications + PR with a track record of delivering quality results in crypto, blockchains, or DeFi
• 3+ years of experience producing web3 content in-house, writing for a news publication, or related role
• Strong experience writing about blockchain technology, decentralized applications, smart contracts, and Web3 protocols or previous contributions to open-source projects or technical communities related to blockchain, crypto, or Web3
• Loves writing, really loves it. This is a writing-intensive position. You are the happiest writing high-quality pieces, short or long, that explain complicated aspects/ideas and inspire people
• Can think strategically about where content strategy should go but is also keen on getting things done operationally
• Has an understanding of how to leverage content strategies for consumer, developer, retail, and institutional audiences
• A passion for the crypto + blockchain industry

Salary Range: $118,600 to $148,200
