The Arbitrum Foundation is an organisation based in the Cayman Islands that is tasked with developing and nurturing the Arbitrum ecosystem. This includes Arbitrum One, an Optimistic Rollup, that instantly scales apps, reducing costs and increasing capacity, without sacrificing Ethereum's security and Arbitrum Nova, which allows for ultra-low cost fees by leveraging AnyTrust technology making it ideal for Social and Gaming applications.

Arbitrum today is the leading Ethereum scaling solution with dominant market share including hundreds of apps on the platform and over 50% of all rollup liquidity. 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Investment Lead to spearhead our investment activities, including drafting terms of investment deals, defining investment strategy, developing exit strategies, leading project due diligence, and creating frameworks to scale our investment strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structuring primary and secondary deals in crypto funds, deep knowledge of the legal structure of crypto investments, and a track record of success in leading investment teams.

Responsibilities

    • Draft Terms of Investment Deals: Collaborate with stakeholders to draft terms of investment deals, including investment size, valuation, governance, and rights, ensuring alignment with the organization's investment objectives and risk tolerance.
    • Define Investment Strategy: Develop and refine the organization's investment strategy, including target sectors, geographies, and investment vehicles, based on market trends, emerging opportunities, and risk assessment.
    • Develop Exit Strategy for Investments: Lead the development of exit strategies for investments, including identifying potential exit opportunities, assessing market conditions, and optimizing investment returns.
    • Lead Project Due Diligence: Oversee the due diligence process for potential investment opportunities, including evaluating financial performance, market potential, competitive landscape, and regulatory compliance.
    • Create Framework to Scale Investment Strategy: Design and implement frameworks and processes to scale the organization's investment strategy, including sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities efficiently and effectively.

Desired Background

    • Experience structuring primary and secondary deals in crypto funds (not incubators or accelerators).
    • First-hand experience executing due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and streamlining investment pipeline.
    • Understanding of the legal structure of crypto investments, including smart contracts, tokenomics, and regulatory considerations.
    • 4+ years working in funds, with at least 2 years of experience leading an investment team.
    • Familiarity with the crypto DeFi and gaming landscape, including emerging trends, key players, and market dynamics.
