About The Role

Proof Labs is looking for a CTO or Founding Engineer who shares our goal of building protocols for the real world. We're a 'physical first' company, bridging the gap between crypto and the physical world with our smart contract enabled NFCs. Our silicon chips are designed to be embedded in products at the point of manufacturing, allowing for limitless potential in the real world (mainly decentralized e-commerce). 

Responsibilities

1. Leading the development and testing of our authentication client
2. Working closely with our lead hardware engineer (7+ YoE) to build an MVP
3. Managing an engineering team across both hardware and software in the later stages of development
4. Working with our advisors and management to effectively communicate trade-offs and constraints around hardware/software integration 
5. Leading development relating to wallet integration, privacy, and off-chain communication.

Must haves

1. 3-5+ years of experience in software development, with a history of deploying successful software projects in the past
2. Knowledge of asymmetric cryptography, public/private key pairing, authentication and digital signatures (ECDSA, EdDSA, AES)
3. Proficiency writing production code (C++, Node/JS, Rust, or Typescript)
4. General knowledge of the EVM (Truffle, Ethers, Solidity)
5. Interest in contributing to the creator economy

Nice to haves

1. Experience contributing to open-source software and/or protocols
2. Prior work with off-chain computation and oracles
3. Familiarity with zK-Proofs, rollups, L2/L3s, account abstraction, MPC, data sampling
4. Understanding of various decentralized blockchains (Cosmos, Near, Sui/Aptos, Starkware, Aztec) including the differences between each
5. Front-end development
