Compliance Manager

About the Role

As our Compliance Manager, you will oversee operational compliance, AML, and fraud prevention, ensuring Kriptomat meets international and local regulations. You will define and implement compliance strategies, manage regulatory relationships, and lead a team of compliance professionals.

In this role, you will ensure that AML and risk management processes align with regulatory requirements while supervising compliance monitoring, reporting, and audits. You will also play a key role in training staff, enforcing internal policies, and liaising with regulators.

You will work closely with AML specialists, risk officers, and the Chief Compliance Officer, ensuring that compliance operations run smoothly and effectively. This is a strategic and hands-on role requiring expertise in regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and team leadership. You will report to management and the Chief Compliance Officer while collaborating across departments to enhance compliance standards.

Location: Full-time in Estonia

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement compliance and AML strategy

• Maintaining and developing the risk based approach to AML and CFT arrangements - carrying out regular assessments of the adequacy of systems and controls to ensure that risks are managed effectively

• Develop and manage AML compliance systems to comply with MiCAR and other relevant legal frameworks

• Oversee AML and risk management activities

• Ensure accuracy in regulatory reporting and audits

• Train the compliance team and ensure policy application

• Supervising the application of the internal rules

What We’re Looking For

• Strong knowledge of AML, CTF, and financial regulations

• Proven experience managing compliance teams and audits

• Excellent leadership, public speaking, remote working, tech, and financial industry knowledge

• Skilled in risk assessment and mitigation strategies

• Proficient in AML/KYC tools, transaction monitoring, and regulatory systems

• Degree in Law, Finance, or Business

• ICA advanced certification for AML or similar certification with equal value

• 3+ years in compliance, with leadership and audit experience

• High ethical standards and attention to detail

• Used to working in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment

• Affinity to technical innovation and a genuine interest in the crypto industry as well as the IT industry

• A network within the crypto industry is a huge advantage
