The Starknet Foundation is a new organisation with the mission of guiding Starknet on its path to becoming a decentralized public good. Starknet is a Layer-2 network that makes Ethereum transactions faster, cheaper, and more secure using zk-STARKs technology. As the Starknet Foundation and surrounding ecosystem of developers & partners grows, we are expanding our Finance team and hiring an experienced Accountant. The ideal person will have direct digital asset accounting experience, or a deep personal interest in the web3/crypto/blockchain technology space.

Responsibilities:
• Performing day to day accounting duties, including processing of supplier invoices, supplier payments (fiat and crypto), digital asset recording, inter-company invoices, staff expense claims;
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions;
• Process quarterly VAT returns;
• Timely and effective handling of month-end close processes including preparation and posting of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation etc.;
• Assist with year-end audits, tax preparation. and statutory reporting. Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards;
• Update, enhance or implement financial tools and policies to strengthen internal controls and improve finance operations and effectiveness;
• Assist in other ad-hoc finance projects as required

Requirements:
• Hands-on experience using Xero;
• Good accounting knowledge with 3-4 years of accounting experience;
• Responsible, detailed & meticulous, analytical, self-motivated and highly organised;
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced, ever changing environment and self-managing work;
• Proactive team player with strong interpersonal, excellent communication and writing skills;
• Hybrid setting with 2/3 days at the office in central London (coworking space in Waterloo);
• Digital assets experience - including using a digital sub ledger like Cryptoworth - strongly preferred
