As a Senior Server Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side infrastructure and services for our Unity-based game. The ideal candidate has a strong background in server-side development, a deep understanding of networking protocols, and experience in Unity game development. Requirements

Proven experience as a Server Engineer in Unity game development, with at least 5 years of server-side development experience. Strong proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Node.js. Extensive experience with backend technologies and frameworks such as Node.js, postgres and redis. Deep understanding of networking protocols, client-server architectures, and server-authoritative game logic. Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs, web services, and distributed systems. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and knowledge of serverless architecture. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis. Solid understanding of software development principles, version control systems, and agile methodologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex server-related issues. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain server-side infrastructure and services for games, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Collaborate with game developers to understand game design requirements and implement server-side features and functionalities. Develop and integrate APIs, plugins, and third-party services for authentication, cloud storage, analytics, and other server-related functionality. Optimize server performance, including database queries, network communication, and overall server load. Collaborate with network engineers to ensure secure and efficient data transfer between game clients and servers. Debug and troubleshoot server-related issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in server-side development and Unity game development. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in game development.
