Corporate Counsel
The role:
- We are seeking an attorney to join our Legal Team as Corporate Counsel to provide commercial legal and regulatory support for a suite of on-chain products and infrastructure. You will support product managers and business development and operations professionals by advising on issues relating to blockchain infrastructure, DEXs, digital payments and other on-chain products. As a member of the Legal Team, you will work alongside a team of talented professionals in a fast-paced industry with a supportive and friendly company culture, advising on some of the most exciting and innovative legal issues in blockchain technology and digital assets.
What you'll do:
- Support the development and provision of legal, business, and strategic advice across the organization.
- Research and review product compliance requirements with applicable U.S. and international laws, in close collaboration with Legal Team colleagues.
- Draft, revise, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial agreements, including Web3, partnership, vendor, and tech transactions, addressing legal risk in business-centric ways.
- Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with various stakeholders, including Partnerships, Product, Marketing/Communications, and Operations as a trusted partner while building strong lines of communication with them.
- Assist with designing and scaling legal processes and procedures.
- Monitor relevant regulatory and policy developments as needed.
- Legal research as needed.
What you'll need:
- J.D. and currently licensed in a U.S. state with 3+ years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably with experience with a consumer financial services business, fintech, bank or crypto/blockchain company.
- A strong interest in digital currency and blockchain technology.
- Practical and sound transactional and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory issues relevant to Web3.
- Comfortable working in an evolving and growing environment that is prone to change, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be a team player with proven problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision at times.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels.
- A sense of humor is a must!
- Knowledge of blockchain technology and Ethereum is huge plus.
