Who You Are:

The Risk Engineering team plays a critical role in supporting the Risk Management function across all lines of business at Galaxy, including proprietary trading, asset management, market making, among others. The team is currently expanding its footprint by developing new models, processes and applications, primarily using the Beacon Platform.

In this role, you will participate in ongoing development projects as well as play a key role in providing production support to the Risk Management and Trading teams and other internal clients. In addition to working closely with one of the best-known Cryptocurrency desks in the industry, you will have the opportunity to learn all facets of the Crypto, DeFi and Web 3.0 ecosystems, unique financial products like perpetual swaps and a cutting edge technology stack that includes Databricks, Spark, Kafka, Beacon, MongoDb, among others.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with risk and business partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operation of risk applications, batch jobs and reporting processes
  • Develop and test new infrastructure for data ingestion and quality controls within the Beacon environment
  • Assist in the development, testing and documentation of risk and trading applications
  • Improve the reliability of critical intraday and overnight batch jobs
  • Develop monitoring and reconciliation processes and reports
  • Build tools to extract information from DeFi protocols
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on a broad array of projects

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Developer or DevOps role, preferably in a financial institution
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or another quantitative subject
  • Proficiency in Python required
  • Familiarity with financial risk and pricing models
  • Excellent communication skills

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with Beacon Platform, SecDb, Athena or Quartz
  • Familiarity with Digital Assets and DeFi
  • Experience with SQL, relational, and non-relational databases
