About the job

We’re hiring a Research Analyst to identify and communicate the trends that will drive the next wave of stablecoin adoption. The title is negotiable, ranging from analyst to lead analyst. What matters is the experience you bring and the insight you can deliver. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of blockchain, data science, and measuring the economy of the future.

As a Research Analyst, you’ll combine industry knowledge with unparalleled access to data to understand what drives adoption of stablecoins today and in the future. You will develop new ways to understand the ecosystem and validate them with data. You’ll share insights, via reports, presentations, and data visualizations, with internal teams and for external communication. For the deepest insights, you’ll help put them in production for continuous monitoring and dashboarding.

You will work within the Economics team, where our mission is to quantify and communicate the impact of Tether’s technologies, primarily our stablecoin, USDt. We are a lean, fully remote, team that leverages thoughtful decision-making, experiments, technology, and vendor partnerships to scale.

Our work is impactful, opinionated, and precise. We thrive on collaboration, autonomy, and delivering meaningful outcomes without unnecessary bureaucracy. You’ll work on new and complex data analysis with agility, curiosity to learn about the domain, and a willingness to stretch yourself.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for researching the stablecoin industry, covering:

  • Use cases and users: current and emerging use cases for stablecoins, and the user journey and adoption of these use cases.

  • Market structure: current and emerging venues for stablecoin usage, and their competitive dynamics.

  • Opportunities: future channels for stablecoin adoption and their timing and venues.

You’ll be successful if you focus on:

  • Curiosity: You develop and test hypotheses that lead to novel insights, which change how the business thinks and acts.

  • Communication: Stakeholders easily understand your findings and act on them; your external research is cited and shared across the industry.

  • Growth: Your approach to research reflects the scale and speed of the business: you build context, prioritise ruthlessly, and automate wherever possible.

You’re an experienced and self-motivated researcher who is opinionated yet collaborative. You’re an expert in your domain yet willing to work on new problems and support the team. Autonomy and remote work brings out the best in you. You have the courage to be wrong in your analysis and the pride to learn why because, above all else, you care about the impact your work has.

Required skills and experience:

  • Deep knowledge of the stablecoin and digital asset industry.

  • Deep expertise in quantitative analysis using languages such as SQL, R, or Python, and expertise in version control (e.g. GitHub).

  • Proven ability to present findings to senior internal stakeholders and author external-facing research.

  • Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • An existing network within the stablecoin and digital asset industry.

  • Experience working with blockchain data.

  • Hands-on experience with data warehouses (e.g. Databricks) and dbt.

  • Experience with JavaScript for dashboard development.

Do blockchain developers work from home?

Yes, many blockchain developers work from home, especially in the current times where remote work has become more common due to the pandemic

The nature of blockchain development allows developers to work from anywhere in the world as long as they have a good internet connection and the necessary tools to do their work

In fact, many blockchain companies have fully remote teams and offer flexible work arrangements

This allows them to hire talented developers from all over the world without being limited by geographical location

However, it's important to note that not all blockchain development jobs are remote

Some companies may prefer to have their developers work on-site for security or other reasons

So, it's important to carefully read the job description and requirements before applying to ensure that you're comfortable with the work arrangements.
