We're looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Data Engineer to help lead efforts to define our ecosystem, partnership and business success metrics, and build the goals and dashboard that help us scale. This individual will be the first data hired at Solana Labs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building robust scalable data pipelines that take data in various formats and repositories, transform / normalize and make such data available for analysis
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
  • Act as a strategic thought partner across the company on how to use data effectively.
  • Scale our insights through better systems and automation

What We Are Looking For

  • Deep experience building ETL pipelines, scalable technologies such as Apache Beam, Google Cloud Dataflow
  • 5+ years of experience in programming languages for data retrieval and analysis such as SQL, Python, Scala, JS
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and other fundamental concepts
  • Strong Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with data modeling, statistics, and visualization techniques, and ability to drill into the data and gain valuable insights
  • Strong cross-functional skills and ability to operate under ambiguous and fast moving problem spaces.
  • A passion for, and understanding of, blockchain technologies and applications. (Prior experience in crypto data is preferred, but not required)
  • Passionate about technology and interested in various crypto assets, blockchain, and tech entrepreneurship
  • Willingness to understand the intricacies of a variety of crypto protocols
  • Collect, research, and analyze Operational and Blockchain data
  • Potential to grow into a leadership position as the team expands.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complicated and nuanced insights in accessible language to relevant stakeholders.
  • Relevant degrees (not required) include Computer Science, Computer Engineering or EE, other computational degrees.
