What do you do as a protocol engineer

  • Designing and implementing customized consensus algorithms to meet specific requirements.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of existing consensus algorithms, assessing their performance metrics such as throughput, finality, and security.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize consensus mechanisms within blockchain systems.
  • Staying abreast of the latest developments and research in consensus algorithms and distributed computing.

What do you need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or PhD with a focus on distributed systems, cryptography, or blockchain technology a plus
  • Proficiency in consensus algorithms, with a deep understanding of their underlying principles and applications, particularly within blockchain technology.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing consensus algorithms or related distributed systems.
  • Solid grasp of distributed computing challenges and solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for critically evaluating complex systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Previous involvement in developing distributed systems.
