About this Role

How will millions of internet users benefit from a new decentralized web? As Community Developer at Metaplex Studios, you’ll be part developer and part Metaplex evangelist, helping empower our growing community as they invent the future of media, gaming, music and more using the Metaplex Protocol.

Because of your unique position on the team, you’ll lead roadmap discussions and advocate for what Metaplex Studios should build next based on your nuanced understanding of community needs. You’ll have the opportunity to also bring your ideas to life by coding them yourself or working hand-in-hand with our Product, Design, and Engineering teams. Most importantly, you’ll help introduce the community to these new updates and all that the Metaplex Protocol has to offer by being active in the Metaplex Discord, Twitter, and events in New York or Portugal or remote—wherever the adventure takes you!

What You'll Do

• Decide and develop what’s next for the Metaplex Protocol by partnering with the Metaplex Community, the Metaplex Studios team, and VIP partners in media, gaming, music. You'll partner with Metaplex Studios Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing.
• Create a community strategy to guide creators, developers, newbies and everyone-in-between as they learn about Metaplex and leverage it in their projects. You’ll partner with the Metaplex Studios team and ecosystems teams to get the job done.
• Build an inclusive community and ecosystem that helps everyone get started on Metaplex including your active presence on social channels, writing documentation, attending events, and spinning up learning hours and bootcamps—whatever you decide is right!
• Build a team and get support from other Metaplex Studios community developers and team members, moderators, and independent creators/developers as we scale our 6,000+ community.
• Stay up to speed with relevant technology. As a community developer, you first and foremost want what’s right for the community and can navigate people to the right solutions including Metaplex and beyond.

If this applies to you, no need to keep reading: you are active in the Metaplex Discord and enjoy troubleshooting people's projects.

• Strong track record in software development having contributed to development projects and have worked as a software developer. Your programming languages include Rust, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• You are comfortable with being on the front lines of communication and get energy from helping people.
• You are exceptional at gathering information from all different places and formulating an opinion on what features are most important for our community. You are able to advocate and raise priority of these ideas on company roadmap for execution.
• You are a strong advocate for the needs of users and care to go the extra mile, whether that’s meeting 1:1 with a community member, asking marketing to throw a banger community event, or brainstorming with product and design on how to bring a top requested feature to life.
• You are a strong communicator and care about simplification. Writing documentation and making tutorials is second nature.
• You have experience in scaling software and systems and have strong opinions for how we are to help more developers and makers most efficiently in a resource constrained environment.
• You bring your personality and authentic self to the job. If you want to respond to users with memes, great! If you want to award NFTs in our community, great! If you want to invite the community to happy hours, great—but also invite the Metaplex Studios team because we would like that too!
• You are comfortable working in analytic frameworks and can quantitatively measure the health of the community and how our efforts are impacting it.
• You care about the quality of systems and will pitch-in to help debug and fix performance issues when the situation calls for it.
• Lastly, and most importantly, your excitement to bring innovation in a trustless world makes you inherently a beacon of positivity in our community.
• You’re passionate about crypto and NFTs and always willing to learn!
