The Role

Messari is looking for a Field Marketing Specialist to design, build, and execute a world-class global event marketing strategy. As our first Field Marketing Specialist, you will develop field marketing strategies and manage the execution in order to help build awareness, engagement, and consideration for the Messari brand with our target audiences through physical and virtual events. The programs you will oversee include organizing virtual and in-person events, sponsored and hosted events, coordinating sponsorships at tradeshows and other large events, designing and executing tradeshow activations, partnering with the sales team to provide unique relationship-building experiences, and creating other event formats you feel will help meet the companies acquisition goals.

The ideal candidate is a skilled event marketer, highly motivated, possesses a strong willingness to amplify the brand, enjoys collaborating with the BDR team, and, most importantly, will be able to measure and optimize marketing performance against pipeline goals and sales targets.

What we expect from you/what you will do:

  • Develop and execute Messari’s field marketing program strategies

  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues and agencies to plan, execute and track quarterly integrated marketing campaigns

  • Work closely with the enterprise and protocol services sales teams to understand specific product sales priorities in order to increase brand awareness drive leads and MQLs for defined regions

  • Plan and host online and offline events to create net-new sales opportunities, accelerate existing sales opportunities and deepen our existing customer relationships

  • Manage field event/programs from initial planning to final execution including contracts, logistics, developing promotional communications to drive attendance, on-site execution, staff exhibition scheduling, and training, and follow up/tracking

  • Develop event playbooks and implement processes to enable an efficient and effective field marketing practice

  • Support field programs and events with a heavy content angle and work with relevant teams and customers to deliver in a live environment including executive breakfasts/dinners, workshops, customer-led panels, tradeshow exhibitions, meetup tours, press junkets, and partner events

  • Strategize, build and execute integrated field campaigns that involve email marketing, direct mail marketing, and other channels as you see fit

  • Track, measure and communicate program results, and seek to generate new global best practices through experimental efforts with events and various campaigns

  • Utilize systems and tools such as Hubspot and Google Analytics to analyze pipeline and opportunity data

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in field marketing or related marketing field, preferably in the B2B/SaaS technology space
  • Strong experience planning and overseeing events
  • Consistent record of building successful partnerships with sales teams to craft programs that are results-driven in their approach
  • Equal parts creative thinker and result-driven
  • Ability to plan and deliver against hard deadlines
  • Work independently, maintain strong attention to detail, and take calculated risks all while juggling many projects
  • Clear and thoughtful communicator (verbal and written). Other foreign languages are a plus
  • Highly organized and proficient at managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Conversion and ROI-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time
  • A Plus: Cryptocurrency knowledge and experience, or adjacent verticals (emerging tech, cybersecurity, finance tech, etc). Not required.

What the marketing and communication department does:

  • Create content programming that helps educate and inform our customers and the ecosystem to make better-informed building and investing decisions
  • Communicate with our customers regarding their product marketing feedback and product issues
  • Collaborate with external partners, industry influencers, members of the press, and more to build and maintain our brand equity
  • Collaborate across various internal departments including product, business development, event planning, research, and sales, to ensure consistent delivery of full-funnel, multi-channel marketing needs
  • Experiment with new marketing and communication channels in order to reach our customers and community via paid, earned, and owned avenues
  • Advocate for data-driven marketing activities to ensure we can properly gauge the ROI for each activation we employ
  • Create and deploy GTM campaigns in order to drive traffic to announce and create buzz around our products, services, and thought leadership
  • Working closely with all marketing team members to devise online/offline marketing strategies across all functions
  • Devise campaigns that result in lead generation for our sales and BD teams
