We are a crypto metaverse initiative jointly incubated by ZEPETO — Asia’s largest web2 digital world platform with over 400 million registered users — and leading global blockchain organizations including Jump Crypto.

We are creating a web-based 3D open world with varying levels of gamification integrated as well as opportunities for users to monetize via ownership of digital assets and social interaction. Our goal is to empower creators and communities to build, play, and earn — a world where users of all backgrounds can chart their journeys into a world beyond the physical.

We are looking for a passionate top-class Backend Engineer who can help bring our vision into reality. What you will be doing:

• Work closely with CTO, VP of Engineering, designers, game producers, and engineers to implement our open world metaverse experiences.
• Contribute and lead backend design discussions, stand up meetings, and code reviews
• Develop and own best practices for backend application development with a focus on high throughput, high reliability, and low latency
• Implementing and improving our overall monitoring and alerting systems
• Interact with blockchain engineers and collectively decide what components should be on-chain vs off-chain
• Design and implement off-chain microservices including but limited to per-wallet off-chain metadata storage with high availability and latency requirements.
• Work with dev-ops engineers to deploy backend services in production with regional awareness
• Research and prototype new and upcoming metaverse technologies.

What we look for in you:

• 10+ years of experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining highly available, scalable customer-facing backend systems
• 4+ years of experience in Go
• Extensive experience with NoSQL database technologies (e.g. DynamoDB)
• Proficiency with Typescript and/or Node.js
• Experience with serverless technologies
• Experience with managing production infrastructure with Terraform, CloudFormation and/or CDK
• Self-starter attitude and the ability to execute new ideas with autonomy
• Passion in building a 0-to-1 metaverse that onboards millions of web2 users to web3!

Bonus point if:

• You have knowledge of Unity
• You have worked in a game and/or web3 project before
• You are familiar and interested in the crypto ecosystem (DeFi, NFTs, identity, staking, or more)
• You've worked in a startup environment
• You speak and write in Korean.
• AWS or other relevant certifications
