About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Economist to lead our Research and Insights Team. To succeed in this role, candidates will require well-rounded knowledge in finance, economics, technology, data analysis, and cryptocurrencies. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in research or a related field, while having a deep understanding of cryptocurrencies.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research for trending topics in the cryptocurrency industry, including but not limited to DeFi, CBDCs, Regulation, Derivatives, etc.
• Compile reports and articles for both internal consumption and external publication
• Perform data analysis, visualization, econometric studies etc.;
• Familiar with using smart contract analysis tool such as scrape data from open source tools such as Nansen, Dune Analytics etc.;
• Follows DeFi and other crypto protocols, knowing the latest trends;
• Liaison with external research partners including media, consulting firms and academia to grow the firm’s presence as an industry thought leader

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Master’s and PhD are highly welcome
• With 5 years+ experience in Research, Finance, Cryptocurrencies, Consulting, or related fields
• Knowledgeable and passionate about cryptocurrencies
• Familiar with statistical or financial modelling depending on the research topic;
• Deep knowledge of blockchain / distributed ledger technology / finance
• Experience in cryptocurrency industry / consulting firms / financial institutions / academia
• Experience in Cryptocurrencies / DeFi research, Equity research, Economics research or FX research is preferable.
• Basic python coding to interact/build models with data science is preferable
• Exceptional critical thinking skills and analytical mind
• Native in verbal and written English
• Advanced skill in MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
