We are searching for an HR Director to join our team to guide the scaling and development of Figment’s HR systems, process and team.

As HR Director, you will work with the Head of People and Director of Talent to define and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that will help Figment upgrade it’s HR administration and people management capabilities to support a remote-first workforce. You will be responsible for managing the full suite of HR processes and systems that support our growing team member bases in Canada, the US and other international jurisdictions. You will oversee the HR team setting strategic goals, driving operational objectives and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Define the HR admin strategy to support remote teams in the US, Canada and international jurisdictions
  • Manage full suite of HR admin capabilities including payroll and benefits, compliance, PTO/leave, perks programs, 401k & RRSP programs
  • Develop and maintain appropriate HRIS platform and tech stack to support relevant payroll, benefit and HR capabilities
  • Maintain team member handbook, Notion knowledge base and effective communications to enhance understanding of company policies and perks
  • Work with the Head of Talent to support effective processes for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding
  • Develop and maintain compensation analysis & planning capabilities to ensure our practices are fair, equitable, and consistent
  • Evolve the performance development and reward capabilities to meet growing needs of our various teams
  • Manage process for disciplinary actions and terminations to ensure decisions are legally compliant and consistent with company practices
  • Educate managers on legal practices, acceptable workplace behaviors and appropriate counseling methods.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of 6-8 years growing HR functions in in early stage growth companies with remote teams
  • Excellent knowledge of related legislative requirements in the US and Canada with experience dealing with international requirements
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation would be a definite asset
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective guidance and coaching in a variety of situations (developmental, disciplinary, etc.)
  • Strong at issue identification, root cause analysis, systems thinking and problem resolution
  • Ability to pro-actively balance a varied workload, deal with conflicting priorities and demonstrate flexibility where required
  • Experience building and implementing projects from the ground up and a passion for excellence and continuous improvement
