Soul Machines, the leader in autonomous animation and digital people, is looking for an experienced and innovative Head of Marketing to lead our Marketing organization.
The Head of Marketing will be responsible for driving our brand strategy including evolving the Soul Machines brand to best showcase our market-leading technology, tier-one clients, and our position as leaders in the metaverse. This individual will also oversee all PR, social and paid media, and product marketing, and will bring their deep experience across these mediums to ensure Soul Machines is the go-to company for all conversations involving AI, virtual humans, autonomous animation and the metaverse.
Soul Machines is a mid-stage start-up with strong funding and an incredible team. We have built a platform that delivers an amazing experience by hiring exceptionally talented and entrepreneurial individuals who are capable of quickly turning vision into reality. The new Head of Marketing will fit this bill, with experience across a broad range of marketing capabilities, in particular brand with an affinity for start-up culture and collaborative problem-solving. Ideally, the candidate will have worked in AI, Web3, Media and/or other consumer-facing technologies and has some experience supporting a sales-driven organization.
We believe we are at the beginning of an exponential growth arc and the marketing team will be responsible for developing and expanding Soul Machines worldwide market presence. It is therefore necessary for this leader to understand scaling - when to add internal resources versus outsource and how to scale both in size and in territory. Most importantly, this leader will be intensely data-driven, ensuring that all marketing activities have measurable impact on the company OKR's and maximum ROI.
The Head of Marketing will report to the COO and operate as a strategic business partner to the senior management. They will also work closely with all areas of the business, in particular the CEO, CRO, and Head of Product.
Key Responsibilities:
You and your team will:
- Build and oversee global marketing strategy and marketing budget
- Build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing team
- Establish manageable and meaningful KPI's across all marketing verticals that forward the company vision and goals
- Evolve/revamp company brand and voice to reflect our market leadership position and showcase our future vision. Ensure new branding is filtered through all mediums (web, social, mobile, etc) and all areas of the org, with a particular focus on sales
- Build and oversee social media and PR strategy as key pillars of marketing (top of funnel), delivering exceptional visibility and share of voice across all relevant outlets and driving measurable organic traffic
- Deliver targeted and meaningful events and speaking engagements (tradeshows, conferences, webinars, etc.) with a keen eye towards what will move the needle versus activity for activity's sake
- Support sales including lead generation, sales materials, white papers, etc.
- Continually improve efficiency across paid media and other lead gen channels
- Oversee product marketing and ensure customers have the tools and information needed to leverage new products and features
- Develop marketing strategies for new business initiatives including Digital Celebrities and the Creator Platform
- Act as strategic business partner to CEO, COO and CRO
- 10+ years of experience successfully running and leading multi-disciplinary marketing orgs (including brand, PR, social, paid, events, product and sales marketing), ideally within the gaming, media or Web3 space
- Experience building and/or relaunching future-forward brands, including sourcing and managing agencies and/or working with internal creative directors
- Proven ability to scale marketing team and organization, knowing when to add internal resources vs. outsource, and how to expand globally
- Ability to structure, manage and motivate small teams for big impact
- Strong 3rd party/agency management and negotiation skills, in particular with design and PR agencies
- Exceptionally strategic with experience successfully advising C-level executives while also not afraid to be hands-on
- A true double-threat -- highly creative and highly analytical/data driven
- Good collaborator with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with enterprise sales-driven organizations a plus
- Experience with start-ups a plus
